Many people consider their cars as a second home, and they tend to store various items inside them.
However, it's important to remind everyone that during the summer, some of these items should never be left in a car because not only can they get damaged, but they can also pose a risk of explosion.
1. Medications
Most medications should be stored at room temperature rather than inside a car, especially during scorching summer days. The heat can break down the molecular components of medications, significantly reducing their effectiveness.
2. Canned Carbonated Beverages
Carbonated beverages in sealed cans are prone to exploding when exposed to high temperatures or physical impact.
So, it's crucial not to leave sealed canned drinks in a scorching car. Accidentally opening one can result in a sticky mess all over your beloved car's seats and handles.
3. Disposable Lighters
Disposable lighters, due to their small size and portability, are quite popular. However, they contain flammable and explosive butane.
If the surrounding temperature in the car exceeds 55 degrees Celsius, the lighter can expand and potentially explode.
With the interior temperatures easily reaching 60-70 degrees Celsius in direct sunlight, this can lead to disastrous consequences.
4. Spray Cans
Many people like to use spray cans during the summer for things like hydration sprays or cooling sprays.
However, similar to canned beverages, these sprays are highly prone to exploding in high temperatures. If you happen to be smoking in the car at that time, the gas from the spray can further fuel a fire.
5. Eyeglasses
Often, people leave their eyeglasses in the car for convenience, but direct sunlight and extreme heat can cause plastic frames to warp and deform over time.
This may not be immediately noticeable, but it can lead to issues in the long run.
Additionally, if your glasses have metal frames and have been exposed to direct sunlight, avoid wearing them immediately as they may cause burns.
6. Lipstick and Lip Balm
For those who like to touch up their makeup in the car, remember to take your lipstick and lip balm with you. Both of these items contain wax and can melt in a hot environment.
7. Dairy Products
If you forget dairy products in your car, or if you spill milk and don't clean it up, you're in for an unpleasant surprise a few days later. Your car will start to smell sour and unpleasant.
8. Plastic Bottled Water
High temperatures can cause small impurities in plastic bottles to leach into the water, potentially harming your health. Furthermore, bacteria can thrive in warm water, which can pose health risks.
9. Chewing Gum and Candy
Leaving half-eaten candy, chewed gum, or partially consumed chocolate in the car on a hot day can lead to a sticky, messy situation that's difficult to clean up.
10. Sunscreen
Sunscreen is a must-have during summer outings. However, did you know that the active ingredients in sunscreen can deteriorate in high-temperature environments, significantly reducing its sun protection effectiveness?
Additionally, if the environment around your sunscreen becomes too hot, it can also explode.
11. Electronic Devices
Nowadays, everyone carries a bunch of electronic devices like phones, power banks, and cameras when they go out. However, leaving these devices in a hot car for extended periods can result in damage.
Lithium batteries found in power banks and cameras can also expand and explode in high-temperature conditions, potentially releasing acidic substances harmful to the skin, the respiratory system, and the eyes.
