In the face of serious energy and environmental problems, new energy vehicles have become an unstoppable trend of the times.
Among them, pure electric vehicles are the most rapidly developing. Before you become an owner of an EV, you may want to read about some tips for pure electric cars.
Getting the charging time right
There are two types of vehicle charging for electric vehicles: slow charging and fast charging. it's common to charge the vehicle mainly slowly, with fast charging as a supplement. When the SOC power meter on the dashboard shows 30%, the dashboard will prompt the owner to charge the vehicle.
If the owner continues to drive when the power battery is very low, the power battery will experience deep discharge, which will also reduce the life of the power battery. To effectively improve battery life, owners should follow the principle of shallow charging and shallow discharging of the battery, therefore, owners can charge the vehicle once a day.
It is recommended to do a full discharge and full charge every month to trigger the battery equalization function and improve the performance of the power battery.
Disconnect the battery
If the vehicle is parked for a long time, It's a must to disconnect the negative terminal of the low-voltage battery, the power battery power to maintain at 60% or more, because at this time the power battery self-discharge rate is the lowest.
If the battery loses power for a long time, the battery plate is easy to form sulphuric acid, blocking the ion channel, affecting the battery recharge performance, and eventually making the battery capacity drop.
Whether it is a battery or a power cell, the battery itself has self-discharge problems, once the battery is completely discharged, the whole battery pack is scrapped.
Therefore, to avoid the degradation of battery performance caused by long-term parking, it is recommended that owners charge and discharge their vehicles once a month.
Avoid exposure to the heat as much as possible
The power battery of an EV is greatly affected by temperature, and the working temperature of the lithium-ion battery in a new energy vehicle ranges from -20°C to 60°C. If the internal temperature of the power battery exceeds 60°C and continues to heat up, it will cause the lines to age.
Therefore, in the case of high-temperature exposure, an EV should not be charged. In addition, long periods of exposure to the sun can cause the vehicle's battery to lose water due to increased internal pressure, leading to a decrease in battery activity and accelerating the ageing of the poles.
Do not charge in extremely cold conditions
Extremely cold conditions can affect battery activity, and fast charging can have a significant impact on battery performance.
Preheat the vehicle before charging, fire up the vehicle, turn the air conditioning to the highest temperature and preheat for about 10 minutes, not only can protect the battery, but also improve the charging speed.
